For traditional preparation, sift 1 gram of matcha powder (about 1 teaspoon) into a matcha bowl. Add about 10 ml of cold water and whisk with a bamboo whisk until a smooth paste forms. Then add 70 ml of hot water (max. 80°C) to the bowl. If the water is too hot, important nutrients and flavors may be lost. The less water, the more intense the taste.
Whisk again for about a minute until fine bubbles form on the surface and the tea has a creamy consistency. Move the whisk by the wrist as if you were drawing an "M" inside the bowl, being careful not to let the whisk touch the bottom. Your matcha is now ready to enjoy!
Matcha packets are airtight and protected from light to preserve quality and full flavor. This keeps the powder fresh for a long time. Once opened, matcha should be consumed quickly, as it reacts with oxygen and may lose flavor and quality. To combat this, we recommend storing the packet in the refrigerator.
